Another 28 days later, Jim recovers at a remote cottage in Cumbria, where the infected are shown dying of starvation. As a Finnish fighter jet flies overhead, Jim, Selena, and Hannah unfurl a huge cloth banner spelling the word "HELLO". The three survivors optimistically watch the jet as the pilot spots them.

It wants a serious cut of the profits, it wants a massive commitment to investment, it wants work to start on a remarkably short timescale, and perhaps most importantly, it wants Bungie to retain full creative control.

After Lisa's death, the strip jumps ahead again to begin "Act III", and this is where folks like Son of Stuck Funky really started making fun of it. It's ten years later now. The strip slowly begins to revolve entirely around bad things happening to the characters (the school bully turned football coach dies of CTE from training for the NFL. this included a week where his wife takes five days to open a letter from the NFL.) Wally has been a POW this whole time. Almost all the strip is about Les Moore mourning his wife and writing a book (Lisa's Story) about her and optioning the movie rights and worrying that the movie will be bad and marrying another woman, but still having conversations with Lisa's ghost and making out with her ghost on New Year's Eve while the two other alive women that love him watch. Plus a few bonkers arcs like "turns out a chimp murdered a guy". The strip is not really about Funky any more, it's almost entirely about self-centered Les Moore and how sad he is about his dead wife. This is where the strip gets its (deserved) reputation for being about cancer and misery.
